Features of Compressor Oil Filter

High-density filter materials and the surface is treated by nano-plating.

The filter element has an uniform aperture and small filter resistance.

High cleanliness is applied in the air compressor accessories materials.

Possessing excellent chemical solvents resistance such as acid and alkali.

Effective separation and high dirt-holding capacity with low pressure drop.

Robust & corrosion-protected housing offers high pulsation and stability.

Bypass valves allows clearly defined opening traits and leak-free closin.

Available with a variety of filter media to meet different applications.

Different Filter Media Types for Compressor Oil Filters

Cellulose (Paper)

A traditional material made from wood pulp fibers. Offers moderate efficiency and dirt holding capacity. Generally cost-effective. Vulnerable to degradation by water, oil breakdown acids (sludge, varnish), and higher temperatures over time.

Microglass (Microfiberglass)

Synthetic glass fibers enabling higher efficiency and superior dirt holding capacity compared to cellulose at similar micron ratings. More resistant to water, chemicals, and temperature extremes than cellulose. Provides a more stable filtration efficiency throughout its service life.

Synthetic Fiber (Polyester, Polyamide)

High-performance materials offering excellent filtration efficiency, high dirt holding capacity, and outstanding resistance to water, chemicals, and thermal degradation. Deliver the most consistent and reliable long-term performance.

Compressor Oil Filter Replacement Steps

1. Unscrew the oil filter and dispose of it properly.

2. Thoroughly clean the filter housing and clear any blockages in the before and after pressure differential holes.

3. Check the performance of the differential pressure transmitter using a machine.

4. Apply a layer of oil onto the sealing ring of the new filter before installation.

5. When installing the filter, rotate it until it comes into contact with the sealing gasket, and then manually tighten it by one-third of a turn.

6. After turning on the machine, perform a check to ensure there are no leaks.

Precautions for Using Compressor Oil Filter

Create a consistent maintenance schedule

The first step to maintaining your air compressor filter is creating a maintenance schedule, ensuring you stay on track and regularly service your filter. A consistent maintenance schedule should include replacements and frequent air quality monitoring.

Monitor pressure drop across inline filters

Monitoring the pressure drop across your inline filters is essential for maintaining system efficiency. As dust, oil aerosols, and other contaminants accumulate within the filter media, resistance increases, leading to a higher pressure drop.

Clean your air compressor

Rust, dirt and other external buildups can damage your air compressor and filters. A clean air compressor is less likely to result in a polluted airflow that can contaminate your filters. A clean air compressor also contributes to a more professional look.

Clean filters regularly (if cleanable)

Besides cleaning your air compressor, you’ll also want to clean your filters and filtration system. Cleaning your air filter regularly can help extend their useful life and make them more efficient at filtering particles.

Pay attention to air quality

The quality of the air entering your compressor has a direct impact on filter lifespan and system performance. Whenever possible, operate your compressor in a clean, dry, well-ventilated environment.

FAQ

Q: Is an air compressor filter necessary?

A: Industrial compressed air systems rely on proper filtration to ensure air purity and reliability. Choosing the right air filter will not only boost the efficiency of your compressor and produce safe airflow, but also reduce energy costs and protect workers from dangerous particulates and contaminants.

Q: What will happen when the oil filter of the compressor is clogged?

A: As the oil filter becomes clogged, it creates higher pressure drops within the system. This forces the compressor to work harder, consuming more energy and driving up operational costs. Monitoring pressure levels can help you detect this issue early.

Q: Can a dirty air filter ruin a compressor?

A: Well, that's what it's like for your air conditioner trying to move air with a dirty air filter in the return duct. It's working harder and longer to compensate for the barrier of dust and dirt. If this continues, your air conditioner's cooling coil will eventually freeze, causing the compressor to fail.

Q: Can I clean my air filter instead of replacing it?

A: Yes, some air filters can be cleaned instead of replaced, particularly reusable or washable filters. However, it's crucial to check your filter type and follow manufacturer recommendations for cleaning. If the filter is disposable, cleaning can damage it and reduce its effectiveness, so replacement is usually necessary.

Q: How often should I change my air compressor filter?

A: In industries, it is advisable to replace the air compressor filter every year, or more frequently in heavily polluted environments. Given the hot summers with high humidity and frequent sandstorms, it is recommended to replace the filter every 6 months or after approximately 4000 hours of operation.

Q: What happens if you don't change your air filter?

A: Not changing your air filter can lead to decreased system efficiency, higher energy bills, poor air quality, and potential damage to your HVAC or engine. A clogged filter restricts airflow, forcing the system to work harder and potentially causing it to overheat or break down.

As one of the leading compressor oil filter manufacturers and suppliers in China, we warmly welcome you to buy high quality compressor oil filter for sale here from our factory. Good service and competitive price are available.
