York 029-22429-000 Shaft Seal Replacement Procedure
Shut down the machine, disconnect the power supply, close the suction and discharge valves of the compressor, recover the refrigerant, drain the oil from the oil tank, depressurize to normal pressure and mark and lock the equipment.
Remove the coupling and the end cover of the shaft seal, make assembly marks, remove the old shaft seal components (rotating ring, stationary ring, C ring, O ring), clean the shaft neck and the sealing cavity, check for scratches or wear on the shaft surface.
Install the new parts: It is recommended to use kit 364-48969-001 directly. Apply refrigerating oil to all sealing components and install them in sequence. The mating surfaces of the rotating and stationary rings must not be damaged or contaminated with dust.
Reinstall the end cover and the coupling, evenly tighten them in a diagonal order, and adjust the coaxiality.
Vacuum, charge refrigerant and refrigerating oil, perform a test run by turning the shaft without any jamming, then start the machine, conduct leak detection and observe the oil pressure difference and leakage volume.
