YORK 024G00009-003 Flow Switch Usage Instructions
This product is a target-type flow switch provided by York for the original equipment of the chiller unit. It is used for real-time monitoring of the flow in the chilled water and cooling water pipelines. When the flow drops below the set threshold, it triggers an interlock shutdown to prevent faults such as evaporator freezing damage and insufficient compressor cooling. It is the core protective component of the water system of the unit.
Installation should be placed horizontally in a straight pipe section, ensuring a straight pipe length of ≥5 times the upstream diameter and ≥3 times the downstream diameter. It should be away from bends, valves and other obstructive components. The target plate should face the direction of the water flow and avoid the highest point of the pipeline to prevent false operation due to gas accumulation. Sealing rings should be installed at the threaded connection points, and the joints should be tightened evenly to avoid shell deformation and leakage. It is only applicable to clear water media and must not be used beyond the rated temperature and pressure range.
Electrical wiring should connect the contacts to the control circuit of the unit. Follow the markings to connect the common terminal, the normally closed terminal and the normally open terminal. Secure the terminals and ensure good insulation and moisture-proofing. The flow switch is only applicable to clear water media and must not exceed the rated temperature and pressure range.
Before commissioning, remove the air from the pipeline. Set the action flow to 60% - 70% of the rated flow. Verify the reliability of the action and reset by adjusting the valve. Conduct daily inspections of the shell leakage and wiring status, and perform annual disassembly and cleaning of the target plate scale and calibration of the accuracy. Before maintenance, stop the water supply and depressurization. Do not strike the target plate and transmission rod to avoid detection failure.
