YORK 364-47164-000 Sealing Component Repair Kit (O-ring Kit) Introduction
1. What is it for?
This is a sealing component repair kit from the original factory of York (YORK), also commonly written as Gasket Kit / O-ring Kit. It is not a single sealing ring, but a complete set of sealing components tailored for specific unit models - including various-sized O-rings, gaskets, sealing pads, etc. During maintenance, they are replaced as a whole to avoid misinstallation or incorrect installation. It is mainly used for major overhauls and maintenance of York centrifugal chiller units (LTJ / YTJ series compressors).
2. Typical working scenarios
Compressor overhaul (Overhaul): After removing the end cover, bearing housing, oil filter, and flange, all old sealing components must be replaced. This kit is a standard consumable.
Leakage emergency repair: When the unit has refrigerant or refrigeration oil leakage, the corresponding sealing components should be replaced at the designated location.
Preventive maintenance: Replace them regularly based on operating hours to avoid sudden failure of aging sealing components that may cause shutdown.
Operating conditions: Long-term exposure to refrigeration oil soaking, refrigerant chemical erosion, oil temperatures ranging from 60 to 90°C, and periodic vibration and pressure fluctuations.
3. Sealing principle
The core is still the three mechanisms of O-rings:
Pre-compression sealing: When assembled, it is compressed by grooves by 15% to 30%, and the rubber rebounds to generate contact stress, filling the microscopic concavities and convexities of the metal mating surface.
Pressure self-tightening: The medium pressure pushes the O-ring to the low-pressure side of the groove, and the contact stress increases with the system pressure, the higher the pressure, the better the sealing.
Gasket bearing: The flange gasket bears the low-pressure difference and large plane static sealing here, and fills the plane gap by the compression force of the bolts.
The combination of these three achieves the airtightness (preventing refrigerant leakage), oil tightness (preventing refrigeration oil leakage), and anti-pollution (preventing external water vapor and impurities from entering) within the unit.
4. Usage points
All old parts should be replaced after disassembly. O-rings are non-reusable items.
Before installation, clean the grooves, remove burrs, apply a small amount of refrigerating oil for lubrication, and never twist or scratch.
The material must be compatible with refrigerant and refrigeration oil (for units, NBR/chloroprene rubber is commonly used; if replacing with FKM, the operating conditions must be confirmed).
