York 029-22450-000 Common Faults of Bearing Seals
Refrigerant/Frozen Oil Leakage: The most common issue. It manifests as oil seepage at the seal, oil leakage from the unit, decreased oil pressure, and frequent need for refrigerant replenishment. This is mostly caused by wear of the moving and stationary rings, aging of the O-ring, or failure of the C-ring.
Seal Surface Wear and Scarring: Contaminants in the lubricating oil, deterioration of the oil quality, or long-term lack of oil operation lead to scratches on the mating surface of the moving and stationary rings, resulting in seal failure.
Axle Wear： Long-term friction of the bearing seal causes grooves on the surface of the shaft. Even after replacing the new bearing seal, there will still be leakage, and the axle neck must also be dealt with simultaneously.
O-Ring/C-Ring Aging and Deformation： Rubber parts are hardened, cracked, and lose elasticity due to long-term exposure to refrigerant and high temperatures. They must be replaced after disassembly.
Incorrect Installation： The seal surface is contaminated with dust, scratched, misaligned during assembly, or not tightened evenly, causing uneven wear and early leakage.
Oil Pressure Differential Alarm： After the seal fails, the oil circuit becomes unstable, and the unit reports low oil pressure protection and stops.
